| How to get there | The climb starts in the east just below Bagolino (712m) at Ponte Prada (611m). One could start already down near Lodrone (385m) on a small and nice road to Bagolino (via Riccomassimo and Cerreto (867m) (probably only directions for these villages)) or on the bigger main road (SS669) up that starts further down at the Lago d’Idro (also nice) – both these roads to Bagolino descends a little before they climb again near or in Bagolino. Not far after this pass is the highest pass on the road over to Breno – Goletto di Cadino (1937m). | |
| Other comments | There is a good bar at the top of Passo di Croce Domínii (1894m) on the other side of the Goletto di Cadino. The nicest road in the area is the narrow road that comes from near Anfo by the Lago d’Idro and climbs steeply in many serpentines to Passo di Baremone/Passo del Mare (1418m). From there it continues almost flat and via 2 km of cyclable gravel road (a spectacular ridge road with deep valleys one both sides) and after reaching Passo del Dosso Alto (1727m) it descends a little to Passo di/Giogo del Maniva (1664m), where one continues on the asphalt road to Dossi dei Galli where the road becomes cyclable gravel again for 8.7 km to Croce Domínii. This approach road is the hardest (4-5) and by far the most beautiful (5) and one of the most interesting roads in the Alps.
