| How to get there | It is a long climb from the north, starting in Tiefencastel (851m). It is not very steep anywhere. The climb from the south, starting in Silvaplana (1802m), is short but a little steeper. | |
| Other comments | There are some good views on the south side and it is also quite nice around Bivio (1769m) on the north side. I believe this pass has a bad reputation mostly because of the rather busy road and it is indeed the most used pass in this region together with the Passo del Maloja/Pass dal Malögia/Malojapass (1815m). One could avoid the Julierpass and the Maloja pass by using the ancient Septimerpass/Pass da Sett by following a perhaps cyclable road from Bivio to the pass and from there take a path down the south side of the Maloja pass.
