| How to get there | From the west the most direct (and southernly) climb starts where a road turns off the Bolzano-Brixen/Bressanone road up the Villnößtal/Val di Funes. This road is a bit steep up the valley and when you turn off again at Villnöß/Funes it only becomes narrower and steeper. There is a wooden bench at the pass and the pass itself is wooden, but otherwise there are much open fine views. One could start up in Brixen/Bressanone (570m) and go via Palmschoss/Plancios (1697m), descend a little, and turn right for the pass. | |
| Other comments | There is no map that marks out this pass, nor has it a proper pass name, but still it is an obvious pass between the Villnößtal/Val di Funes and the Aferer Tal/Valle di Eores. The pass itself is quite nice, but it would be natural to use it as only a step on the way to nearby Halsl/Passo Rodella/Kofeljoch/Passo Éores (1866m) and Würzjoch/Passo delle Erbe/Ju de Börz (1996m). (Photo taken only ca. 100m from the pass.) It is also very nice to simply continue up the Villnößtal/Val di Funes to its end! [r1370] |
